Seward is home to many artists and arts educators. Seward Neighborhood Group reflects this special population in its activities. Members have traditionally been active in many arts projects. A major accomplishment of the Seward Community Arts Network (SCAN) was the development of the annual Seward Arts Festival. Resident artists display and sell their work at this one-day event in November. In addition to countless professional, amateur, and student artists, Seward boasts the Playwrights Center, the Northern Clay Center, Joan of Art, Wing Young Huie, and Orfield Gallery.
